Prevention of Theft - Wallingford Town Centre

Good Afternoon Resident

Today, 20th September, whilst on patrol PCSO's from the Wallingford Neighbourhood Team have sighted a male known to Police walking down the High Street in Wallingford. 

The male is known to target Vulnerable and Elderly people in order to Steal their purses/wallets and take their cash and cards. 

With the help of the Council CCTV Operators they were able to locate his whereabouts and as he was acting in his usual predatory behaviour he was detained for a search. 

Thankfully on this occasion there appeared to be no offences and no victims have come forward. 

He was subsequently seen leaving Wallingford after being issued with a lifetime ban from Waitrose. 

Some great partnership working which has undoubtedly prevented further offences and victims.
